Fukuriki Arajinja Shrine Annual Festival

Fukuriki Kojin Shrine is known as the god of warding off vipers and safe childbirth. The daughter of Mori Tadamasa, the lord of Tsuyama Domain, gave birth safely after praying for safe childbirth, and Yamaguchi Hikozaemon, a retainer of the Mori family, was attacked by a viper but made a full recovery after praying. It is said to be miraculously effective in safe childbirth and warding off vipers. The Fukuriki Kojin Shrine Lunar New Year Festival is held for three days every year from the last Saturday of January, and it is said that if you attend the festival, all members of your family will be safe from viper attacks for the year.
