The Uchimizu Daisakusen Shinagawa, with the slogan "Let's lower the temperature in midsummer by 2 degrees Celsius," will be held at various facilities in the ward from the heat of the twenty-four solar terms to the end of the heat (July 23rd to August 23rd in 2023). We are holding a uchimizu event.
Since 2006, we have held this event every year as an opportunity to think about power saving and the realization of a decarbonized society by sprinkling water in the summer when power consumption increases due to air conditioners and other equipment.
Children from Yutaka Nursery School (1-18-15 Yutakamachi) participated in the Uchimizu event held at Ecole Togoshi on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
The temperature on the sidewalk before the water sprinkling was about 48 to 50 degrees, but after the water was sprinkled on, the temperature dropped to about 36 to 38 degrees, a drop of nearly 10 degrees, and the children were amazed at the effect.
